A DGGS\ncan support efficient management, storage, integration, exploration,\nmining, and visualisation of large geospatial datasets, and several\nsystems of tesselation and indexing schemes exist.\n\nThe main topic of this session is to introduce the audience to the\ntheoretical background of Discrete Global Grid Systems (DGGS), current\nreal-world implementations and exemplary use cases.
