Paper abstract: This study aims to evaluate the impact of fishing effort on fish assemblages. Scientific works carried out in the Ebrie lagoon 20 years ago, show that even in non-overfished ecosystems there were major changes compared to the lightly fished adjacent sector. The main changes included lowering of fish diversity in catches, fish biomass, average catch length, trophic level of catches.
