This is the 6-hourly output data from Aqua-planet experiemnt using AFES.The name of the directories (35,45,55,NF) mean the latitude of the prescribed zonally symmetric SST front (NF for non-front) in each experiment. Experimental design in more detail is found in the manuscript. Data format is in grads format (.grd, 4byte binary). Grads descriptor files (.ctl) to read the binary files are found in the same directories. Number of the days in each month is 30. Each binary file includes 2month. The first 6 months (0001-0003) are considered as spin-up, thus not used in the analysis. Analysis period used in the manuscript is 120month after the spin-up (i.e. 0004-0063). One can use CDO (Climate data operator) to convert the data into NetCDF (.nc) format.
